This was an interesting foray into the mind and life of Lucas. I've always wanted to know more, and I received this as a gift for Christmas. It offers a "behind the scenes" look at his business life, as well as his personal life. Truly a fascinating read for any filmmaker, hobbyist, or anyone!

Really enjoyed this audiobook, George Lucas's life, Star Wars & Indiana Jones, advances in filmmaking & technology through those films and a host of others as the Lucas companies developed new technologies through ILM, Lucasfilm, etc. I left having a much greater appreciation for his business and technological advances that have transformed our film viewing lives, so much more than just a handful of movies. THX sound, digital filmmaking, Pixar, and tons of other developments that came from one man's wish to make movies the way he wanted to, to make them good, and to not be beholden to "The Hollywood Machine".

Somewhat similarly written in the same style as the book about Steve Jobs, this book pulls few punches. It is honest and enlightening to any true fan of all of the franchises Lucas built and that we all love.

As a casual fan of Star Wars, I was more intrigued by Lucas' nearly single handed ability to wrestle control of filmmaking and all that entails from the studios. A classic David and Goliath metaphor for the ages. Thank you Mr. Jones for a thoroughly enjoyable read and Mr Lucas for your inspiring life.

I just couldn't get into in an stopped reading a few chapters in. The incredible long chapters (kindle estimated 40 minutes for some) really didn't help either.

I bought this used and they didn’t say it was an ex-library book and I don’t like ex-lol Barry books, so I didn’t like the copy. The book itself is good but I think George Lucas is amazing.

It was in very good read into the history of the very complicated man. I like the way it started in the beginning and finished current information

So many fun facts and details. This was my first look into George Lucas, and Mr. Jones did a great job at telling Lucas's story.

Even thought this book is now a few years old and science is improving all the time, this is still an excellent read. It is very thorough and well written on the topic of Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy. I wanted to study all I could on the subject, so I got this book (audio book). It was very helpful and I am now on Bio-Identical Hormones and I feel A LOT better! To take BHRT is a personal choice for everyone, and this book answered all my questions and then some. Thank you Suzanne Somers for your time and research to educate us on this subject matter!

This is her original book about hormones that helped popularize the bio-identical hormones. I had this book before some years back, but I gave it away. Then I started having hormone problems and wanted to read it again, so I bought another copy. I don't agree with everything it says, and I think it's a little outdated, but it's a good reference to have around if you keep up with your hormones or use bio-identicals. My attitude about hormones has changed over time, and I am not as enamored with using bio-identical hormones as I used to be. If you are interested in the bio-identicals, I urge you to read and research widely. There's a lot of confusion and misinformation out there about hormones but some wise advice also. I used to take 3 female hormones. Now I only take one that I buy over the counter. I think it's safer. What little male hormone I need I can get through herbs. If I don't get hot flashes, which I don't, I'm happy. A lot depends on what stage of life you are in.

I grew up with Suzanne Somers on TV weekly. I understand her wanting to remain as young and good looking as possible, AS LONG AS POSSIBLE. She has the $$$ and apparently the MD friends to lead her, by the hand, to her great looks today. She knows her stuff, has done her homework and makes the book an EZ read and very informative. Many of the things I did or tired. Many are way too expensive for me to afford and involve meds, injectables, etc...ALL by Cosmetic or Dermatologic MDs...possibly some by Plastic Surgeons who do surgery, too. One day, I hope to be able to afford some of the things I read about.

Suzanne Somers does a wonderful job informing women (and men, too) about bioidentical hormones and how natural bioidentical hormones keep us young, active, and looking great. This book is written in a manner that is easy to read yet incredibly informative, and it made me want to find out more about bioidentical hormones. So, I have since read 3 more books on the topic all because of the interest Suzanne Somer's book brought out in me. Suzanne has used her celebrity status to let all of us know that we can, indeed, age gracefully.Women, I have learned that we do not need to suffer from PMS. Doctors give us Prozac for that, but all we need is natural bioidentical prescription progesterone. Also, women are needlessly dying from heart attacks because they are taking synthetic hormones. What a crime. Somers informs us on these topics as well as many, many more.This book is a fascinating, eye opening read and I whole heartily recommend it. And, when you finish reading this one, read Dr. Reiss's book called "Natural Hormone Balance," another important resource and fascinating read.

I am a Breast Cancer survivor. My Family Doctor suggested I read Suzanne Somers Book.The Sexy Years. I wish I had read this book years ago. This book explains all about the importants of what can happen if your hormones are not balanced. Also the importants of using Natural Hormone Replacement instead of HRT. When your hormones are kept balanced it is a protection from Cancer. The Doctor I went to did not understand balancing your hormones with Natural Hormone Replacement. The Doctor also said I did not need progesterone because I had a hysterectomy.You will find out when you read this book this is not true. Progesterone helps also to balance your hormones and protect your heart and bones.I am please to say the Doctor I was going to is now sending his patients to a person who is qualified to help them with Natural Hormone Replacement.I also recomment Doctor Jonathan V. Wright & John Morgenthaler book Natural Hormone Replacement book.May this book be a blessing to you as it has been to me.

all women owe it to themselves to read suzanne's books. there is so much information that your doctor isn't going to tell you unless you have one that is progressive and up to date and really cares about why things happen to you instead of just slapping a bandaid on a symptom. i consider myself intelligent and educated but i had no idea how little i knew about my own body until i started reading suzanne's books. i'm so grateful that she is out there for us and all women should be aware of this material.

I feel the book worth reading especially on the sections that describing specialists' behaviors. As a retail trader, the essence is to find what the major players are doing and following it. I think Anna is very successful on selling that idea.Regarding the actual VPA, I found it is useful on futures/forex and in micro timeframes, by micro I mean 1min ~ 15min chart. However if you apply it to stocks, there will be too much noise as often the stock move with the rest of the market or industry, and the specialists have many ways to manipulate the price and hiding the volume. It still helps you on analyzing the move, but by itself does not form a system.Throughout the book, the author used lots of paragraphs to emphasise "the great value", "great power", "extremely powerful", "so powerful" of VPA, I would say almost 5% of the words are used on that, too much that almost like a brainwashing. A logical reader will automatically realize the value if it truly benefits, this is totally unnecessary.Generally, it helped me on getting more insights on the market, very good book for beginners.

In spite of extensive experience with chart patterns and trend-following indicators, I always seemed to be in the dark about market timing and persistence, getting into good trades late and out early --- not to mention getting into bad trades early and out late! Although doggedly pursuing multi-timdframe analysis helped me at least stay out of countertrend trades where my previous propensities were most damaging, the continuing inability to stay in good trades long enough merely slowed the drawdown flow ,,, yes, you CAN go broke taking profit! ...just more agonizingly slowly...Anna's excellent ground up cause and effect presentation has made a lasting and continuing improvement in both my trading style and results.

Probably the book I wish I had discovered early on in my technical trading journey. The book explains the basics of candlestick along with the influence of volume to provide clues on where the market may be headed next. The book is down to the earth and summarize very well the power of VPA.The book is an easy read but there is too much repetition. The author provides a bullish and bearish case for each situation but I find it overkill to go in the same lengthy details. Once you understand the bullish case then the bearish is just the opposite and the author should trim it down. I hope you like the word "whilst" because you will probably find 500 occurrences of that word in the 150 or so pages :) I was quite surprised when I got the book with its unusual format (for a book that is) of 8.5 x 11! I then thought this was great for displaying large charts to actually find out their size would fit in a much smaller standard book. Unfortunately the biggest drawback of this book are the charts. Not only they are small (compared to the book size) but they are almost impossible to read. You cannot distinguish a bullish to a bearish candle. The charts are grey on black. I can't believe the publisher printed it out as is.I would give a 3 stars for that because it is a crucial part of the book where everything is put together and the chart quality makes it hard to follow. However I am rating it 4 stars because technical trading should be kept to simple things and this is what this book is promoting. Volume + Price is everything. Everything else derives from it.

Good book, bit confusing some times especially toward the end during the chart reading chapters where the discriptives don't seem to match up to the chart data. I was sitting there going, " what are you talking about what chart are you reading from where are you looking?" More than a few times. Maybe I need to read them again but that's my initial impressions. It seems each book in this series (if it is a series) builds on the last and gets more and more complex. The auther in the introduction to vpa book talks about how simple it is then when you get to this one, you realize it's not exactly that straight fwd to just jump in and trade and as if that's not enough the third one "A 3D approach"... It's gets waaay... Anyways I'd have to say though that after reading this and maybe including the intro to vpa (read that first) you'd be good and ready to start on her life trade rooms to really get into it. Cuz I'm finding the third book (A 3D approach) a bit daunting.If you can only afford just one book get this one then head over to the trading rooms at her website and be done with it.Good luck.

What I took from this book was the following: The book for me is very well laid out, it is very easy to understand and it provides a good basis from which to comprehend the importance of volume. The Bookshop of Yesterdays is a moving tale that captures the turmoil of families while also offering a loving tribute to the quirky characters who inhabit books and bookstores. It's an impressive debut novel by a gifted author.

When I started reading, I had expectations of how the story would go. The mark of a good book/story is that the story takes you to unexpected places, in unexpected ways. The quest is what keeps me reading. Although about books, a tale of family relationships, while never perfect, still family.

I really enjoyed The Bookshop of Yesterdays. It caught my interest right away with its interesting and real variety of characters, the wonderful bookshop setting (OK, I used to work in a bookstore like this.. and still love bookstores) and of course the literary clues. The dialogue was very natural, and the writing style was smooth and not distracting. I recommend it!

This book kept me reading. I love the premise and the literary references. It even has sparked my interest to read books I hadn’t read before. I’ve bought multiple copies to share with friends. I can’t wait to see what this author comes up with next!

Held my interest the entire time. Loved all the book quotes and the clues! I think I'll re-read Shakespeare, especially the Tempest!

I did enjoy this book. I did figure out the secret or whatever within the first couple of pages but whatever. The only real criticism that I can think of was...ok, I really enjoyed the characters and the ones who were supposed to frustrate you absolutely did lol. I just think the characters could have used a little bit more fleshing out. Just a bit. I know the lead character was on her own journey (of course) but a little more understanding of some of the supporting characters would have been nice too. That's it. Other than that TINY note, I did enjoy the story. I would and did recommend this to someone else.

This sounded like an amazing book, but it fell far short for me. Miranda was very self-involved, and none of her relationships felt real (mom was the most believable, but her best friend Joanie and boyfriend in Philly both lacked any detail that made them feel genuine)The "mystery" took far too long to resolve, and I'd figured it out before I was even 50% into the book. Why oh why did this drag on so long?The only thing saving it from the dreaded single star rating is all the literary references, which were quite fun for a book nerd

This is an awesome literary story built around the framework of Shakespeares "The Tempest" fleshed out with other great works.

About the Author

Great book with lots of problems. Great book to study for any standardized test in math. It also has good explainations of how to go about solving each problem.

I highly recommend all of steve warren math books. They have help me raised my act and sat math score to 95 percentile very quickly.

What separates this book from other prep books are the explanations. The explanations are thorough and well written. This is an excellent guide.

I really like the author’s ACT math book so I was happy to see that he has also written an SAT math subject test book. As I expected the book is very well written and provides high quality instruction. The way the problems are arranged makes it really easy to focus on the types of problems you need to get to the next level. Any strong math student that uses this book correctly should get an 800 on the test or at least very close to it.

This book is amazing. I took the SAT Math II subject test once already, but I had to cancel because I wasn't confident about my score (700~760 range to be expected... cancelled for a chance to get a higher score).Pros: - Problems organized by difficulty - Realistic SAT Math II problems (Matches format and in level of difficulty) - Supplemental problems - Detailed answer explanations with alternative ways to solve problemsCons: - Answer explanations are right below the problems, with the answer often popping out.The only problem that I have with this book: answers glare in my face. I don't know why, but the answer in the parantheses always catches my eye, and I get a quick glimpse at the answer before actually solving the problem. It would've been a lot beneficial for me if the answer explanations were at the end of a chapter or at the end of the book. Other than that, very helpful, and I hope that this book will guarantee an 800 for me!Results will be posted May 21, 2015

This book was an amazing book and if one spends a good amount time on this book they will really benefit a lot in their SAT M2 exam. This book really showed the different types of problems that could come in the exam. I personally advice this book to any one who is going to take the M2 exam even if you think you are ready.
