Other issues are covered as well.All in all, a helpful volume if you want a quick overview of the complexity of the healthcare system.

I am currently a student at NSU and this is one of the books that I needed for a required course that I am taking online as a degree requirement. When I went to the campus bookstore they were going to charge me an arm and a leg for this book. The option to get it off amazon.com made it more convenient for me, and more affordable. I was able to order this book and get it well before my classes started.The book itself is not very big and is easy to carry. If I decided to put it in my laptop bag it would fit in with my laptop without making it too bulky or too heavy to carry. I like that it doesn't have 20+ chapters, it is straight forward and to the point. It's an easy read, and keeping up with my assignments is a breeze. I highly recommend getting a deal on textbooks by buying and or renting from Amazon.

A good read for a good price

A very simple, dry overview of the US healthcare system (Pre 2017). In fairness, this is a condensed version, but it is very, very condensed. Could serve as a handy glossary of terminology.

I needed this for a class and it was very useful.

While the book is enlightening, (it is a required text for Health Care Organization for the program I am in) I find it blatantly biased. In the very first chapter it is evident that the authors prefer a single payer system, and mention the Canadian, British, and German systems, and prefer the Canadian system. As we have progressed through the book, the bias toward a single payer system has been reenforced. We have too many specialists, not enough generalists, etc. All that is true, but the solutions they are offering will not work to the satisfaction of the American public, if looking at the Canadian system is any indication. The waits there for basic care, dentistry, etc., are long. Overall, I think the book has many valid points about our system of health care. Just be aware of the authors bias as you read the book.

Buy it! This is by far the best college level physics book I have read. The book explains in clear detail about physics and teaches you math and calculus so you will be able to solve physics with calculus. He teaches the math beginning with basic algebra, trig and calculus. The only math you need is some basic high school math. He teaches that too! The physics problems are challenging and can be solved through some brainstorming. In this book he has the solutions. There are two other volumes in the series. Great book!

Does a great job explain difficult physics problems using algebra, trig, and calc. I highly recommend this book if you are taking a physics coarse. You really don't need to know calc for this book; the book explains it in great detail.

Useless. Wasted 15 dollars or so. I shelved the book because I dropped my calc based physics this past summer. Opened this book up after finishing my calculus 2 class this past week. There is absolutely nothing calculus based about this book.The least they could have done was explained how they picked the equations they’ve used in their examples. There isn’t much guidance to this book. Waste of money.

I bought this both hard copy, and in audible. I am listening to the audible as I write this.Oh, my Gosh, Everyone. There is nothing as fabulous as listening to Lin Manuel Miranda speaking the messages. A close second is reading them from the hard copy, holding it in your hands. Wow.If you want to be uplifted, inspired, encouraged, to feel as if you are not alone and that you have someone in your corner who completely understands what your life is like, and likes you exactly as you are, get this book. I promise you that you will Love it!

I actually accidentally bought this. Apparently hit the wrong button. Oh, my, how many "mistakes" we make are just what we unknowingly needed. I effing love this, and believe me, I'm not a "self-help-affirmation-let-us-spread-cheer' person. As I'm obviously technically inept, just have to figure out to get this to play as an alarm.

I let Lin Manuel Miranda melt my heart with In The Heights ten years ago and he keeps knocking me off my feet. Even his Amex commercial made me cry. I feel so blessed to have him in our generation.... how lucky we are to be alive right now! Keep going, friend, you're doing all the things!Good for the heart, good for the soul, good for reading with the kids at night and over breakfast. I'm all about this beautiful, artistic, encouraging book.

I feel a little ashamed to be writing a product review for a book I have yet to finish. It arrived today and I have to admit I plan to only let myself read it a bit at a time, get my pep talks when I need them, and savor these sweet, thoughtful nuggets of hope/poetry/reflection like rich chocolates. These are the sorts of words I try to tell myself, so I understand the intention. They've lifted me up on good days and bad, inspired me to be patient with myself and others, inspired me to want to join Twitter, and always bring a smile. In short, we don't know you, but we love you, and we're proud of you.

I expected nothing except delightful wordplay from Lin-Manuel Miranda, but between the genuine feeling of being seen and understood that these little pep-talks give the reader and the humorous, perfectly-suited illustrations by Jonny Sun, "Gmorning, Gnight" is one of those books that I'll read over and over again. I pre-ordered and received my copy today...and I'm not ashamed or surprised that I finished it in one sitting. Please buy a copy for yourself, your friends, or whomever the heck in your life or on the subway who needs a smile. So happy.

Just got this book in the mail this afternoon and I’ve already read it through once, not that it’s a particularly long read but still. It’s fantastic! It’s just SO NICE! I was tearing up and laughing aloud in the middle of a coffee shop. Buy it for everyone you know. I can’t think of a better Christmas/Hanukkah/whatever holiday you celebrate present!

Picked this up from my mailbox and enjoyed a few peaceful moments in my car as I thumbed through several pages. Could be a very quick read, but every G’morning, G’night duo deserves time for reflective thought. LMM is more than genius (and oh how we need his tweets these days!) and JS adds some sweet illustrations. Love this book. It’s everything I knew it would be.

I read this book based on the Hofstra University Honors College Required Reading List. I was curious about the book and found it to be an intriguing read as an early text (1405 AD - Late European Middle Ages) extolling the intellectual capabilities of women and their contributions to western civilization. All of Pizan’s perspectives were understandable and have relevancy now for analyzing the expanding awareness of how women contribute to society and what sorts of obstacles they still face in pursuing their chosen personal & professional paths. Christine de Pizan was an extraordinary writer and poet. Her books of poetry are as beautiful as any you are likely to read. Some of her poems concern the death of her husband, some are loved poems, but all are marvelous in expression and feeling. She was a woman who wrote so well as to support her entire family by herself after her husband died and left her a widow. Besides poetry she wrote a book on the art of war, and also this book, "The book of the City of Ladies," which is one of the first ever written about women running their own affairs. Christine was so successful that she is depicted in thousands of paintings illustrating women writers. This translation is a good one.

Fascinating look into the world of a most unusual - female - author written in1405 (yes, 1405), by Christine de Pizan. Translated to English in 1982. The author "... builds an allegorical fortified city for women using examples of the important contributions women have made to Western civilization and arguments that prove their intellectual and moral equality of men."

Christine falls asleep while contemplating why women in her society get such a bad rap, and has a long dream about exemplary women and their characteristics.Did you ever wonder why we just accept that women in the Middle Ages were considered demons in disguise? Christine tells us all about what she thinks of that concept and of those who insist on spreading such maliciousness, all in an engaging story full of examples of brave, courageous, intelligent, pious, beautiful, generous women. The book was written to dispel some of the nastier slanders then current about women, but it's still good reading today.I confess that during the part about martyrs I wandered off a bit (it is some gruesome stuff in places), but as a period source, it's definitely one every history maven ought to have. Christine is intelligent, observant, and witty; her writing fairly sparkles with indignation over the treatment of women and her sardonic amusement at those men spreading those lies. While hyper-Catholic and in places highly allegorical (and in many places its version of "history" is highly questionable, of course), it is an essential look at a time period where women didn't often make their views known in written form.This book is distinct from "The Book of the Treasure of the City of Ladies".

Initially bought for a class, but Christine's work is a wonderful glimpse into what medieval life was like.

Noble, and really ground-breaking for the fifteenth century. One of the first feminist books probably ever written. It is written, obviously in a dated fashion, so the reading can get a little redundant.

This is an awesome translation and is a must for any feminist’s library
