On a scale of 1 to 5, I rate the TExES Social Studies 4-8, SECRETS Study Guide a 5, truly exceptional! I was very happy to learn that Mometrix offers study guides for help in studying for teacher certification exams. One of the main reasons I chose to order this guide is I have ordered a previous study guide from Mometrix several years ago. It was for the Masters Social Work Exam and it helped me greatly in passing my licensing exam.Your test preparation materials are terrific! I will be taking further exams for my teaching career and have full intentions of ordering any study materials you have to offer.

This study guide is extremely detailed. I love the review videos with the codes because I am a visual learner. The questions in the back are challenging but going through challenging questions right now will help me a lot when I take the real exam. I love how the study guide gives such detailed explanations to answers, so I can really know more about a type of question I need more help with. I have confidence that this study guide will help me pass the real exam.

This is my 15th year in education and I got the book in order to add to my teaching certification. The book did not provide enough information about the topics covered in the book. I had to use other resources when studying for the exam.

The book has given me a good impression thinking that I will pass the exam in the first attempt. The product is worth to study . The study material is fragmented with the different sequence of events to memorize easily for the exam. Although it is my first try ,I am confident .

This book was a huge help! I am a native New Yorker and I was not familiar with Texas State history (which is part of the 4-8 curriculum) and this book gave me an excellent summary. I loved that it was in SEQUENTIAL ORDER! The exam study guides provided by the state are often broken up into competencies, which can be confusing. This was broken up into sections (U.S. History, World History, Government, etc.) which made it super easy to study. The writing in the book is easy to read and won't put you to sleep. I ended up passing the exam with flying colors. I can't say enough good things!

Helped me pass the exam! Of course, also find practice exams as well.

Did not help very much on the test. The videos were quite good I would take notes while listening along but overall it was nothing like the certification exam. It was more of a sparks note version of what I would have liked did not go into depth at all on Texas history which was a huge portion of the test. I was quite disappointed with this book.

Best study guide I know of. Definitely worth the investment. I passed!! Thank you Mometrix!

I have read and own a lot of airbrush books, and I find this to be one of my favorites. It is about 30 years old, but the artwork included is still great, and his information still useful. There seem to be quite a lot of used copies of this hardback book and at good prices, so it won't cost much to see if you agree with me.

This is not a book for beginners. It is very well written and covers a number of techniques. I am still trying to digest most of it as it is the type book that you go back to all the time. A good reference book.

to be completely honest, with myself and you I didn't read the book but I glanced at it once or twice and it seems very well written.

I like the story so far, I'll have to get the next volume!

The manga is good

As a continuation of the Pokemon Adventures, this is a pretty big disappointment, in both story and the layout. It's an extremely short volume, roughly half the pages of a traditional manga volume and only three chapters, so the plot and characterization comes across as rushed and onenote.One the one hand we have the introduction of the main characters of Sun and Moon, who barely give us a reason to care about them and what they are going to go through. We hardly get a chance to understand the 'charm' that Sun is supposed to have or be willing to put up with him, especially with his motives and actions regardings both Team Skull, Prof. Kukui, and Moon. Moon feels like the only sane person in Alola besides the grunts of Team Skull, which seem far more competent/intimidating than in the game. The short volume also gives the problem of not including all the characters mentioned in the 'cast' page. Gladion, despite showing up on the cover, only appears in the cast page and that's it. We also get a cast page explanation on Lillie, despite her picture showing up once for one panel at the end of the volume.Overall, this doesn't give me much confidence for the next volume(s) for this series, though it does mention on the back of the cover that this is a "Pokemon Adventures Special Edition", so this might not be the actual continuation of the Pokemon Adventures series, and just a special series to celebrate Sun & Moon before the next generation comes out.

This was a nice edition to the mini-series, but it wasn't my favorite for 1 reason.Pro - Although this happens often in Pokémon Adventures, these characters strayed a bit far from who they actually are in the video games. Sun, for example, is the male character, but somehow he became a delivery boy. Somehow, Moon, the female character, became a pharmacist. I actually like this little twist in the story line!Con - This book, compared to the ORAS mini-series, was kind of boring. If there was a better cliffhanger in this book, it would be better. Also, the cover shows Gladion and Type: Null on it, yet those 2 are never even mentioned or seen in the book!Despite what I just said, It's a great addition to Pokémon Adventures. You should read it!

It's a fun book to read, not bad.

This was for my grandson. He loves pokemon. It was a nice big.set of cards and a coin with it. He liked it.

Good score. Came on time and there are few misprints in english and german. I find that the english translation is the most lyrical and makes the most sense compared to other publishers. As always a Schirmer score is a valuable investment for any opera singers collection!

The translation has a few mistakes, which is fine, but my copy arrived with the spine and cover damaged. The cover appears to be glued on the spine kind of sloppily, there are creases along the spine that affect what the cover looks like

Schirmer's translations are not great, but they are often used here in the USA so I'm happy to have one of my favorite operas in score form!

This score is awesome. I think it's the closest edition to the Kalmus you can get if it isn't just a copy. THe English translation in great although in a definitely more formal and classical format rather than the translation used by the Metropolitan Opera. The production I used this in was great and it was because the music was clear and easy to read and words for both languages were printed clearly. Great and enduring edition of the opera score!

Clear. But the best edition is Bärenreiter

It's great to have the score and the Schirmer edition is nice -- although I tend to be biased against Schirmer and favor the tried and true urtext editions. The picture is the yellow Schirmer front and although there is a note on there saying that is not how it will look I still expected it. My bad. I received the standard Schirmer redd-ish front.

This used score was in good condition, only the binding was coming off. The seller was very honest about its condition, it still was a very good copy and Schirmer's in my opinion is the best name to buy.It is complete, with table of contents, acts and scenes and page numbers, and arias also listed.Other brands can lack these vital things .

Great to get for a cheap or last-minute need, but clearly some word errors (especially in chorus parts).

From a father's perspective ... my wife got very tired during her pregnancy and would fall asleep in the strangest of places. She miscarried and it was a shock and tragedy for the two of us (and our little boy who was so excited to have a baby brother). I gained a great deal learning from this author and I recommend this book to fathers, husbands / partners of hypothyroid women and mothers. It provided me with insight into the science of what was happening to my wife and I was able to help her to identify symptoms that she did not even realize were a part of this disease such as thinning hair (and what to do about it). This book provides such a wide range of important life considerations and is so much more than a "how to" from a pregnancy angle. So much here to help a woman before, during, and after pregnancy ... with living and not just coping with ... but thriving with this condition. I purchased several copies and gave them to friends known to me who suffer from this disease. It's so surprising to know just how many people suffer in silence.

It is hard to give a negative review to a book that contains information that will save lives, once it gets into the hands of those who need it. The book, however, is less useful for a reader who is already up-to-date on the latest thyroid information and is maintaining optimal thyroid levels. Also, if you take a look at the table of contents, you will see that there are really only two chapters relevant to each reader. The chapters are divided by the particular thyroid disorder that one has, and some of the info in those two chapters is repetitive (at least it was for the hashimoto's chapters). I read the book - or rather, the portions of it relative to me - in about 30 minutes. If someone is pregnant, thinking of becoming pregnant, or going through the postpartum period and dealing with a medical service provider who is not well-versed when it comes to thyroid issues, then this book will be very helpful for that person. I was disappointed that there was almost no information on how thyroid issues affect the birth process itself - I was very much hoping for this, as I am working to put together a birth plan that will be optimal in light of my thyroid issues and my OBGYN (recently fired) just wasn't "getting it". I have a wonderful integrative medicine doctor who totally "gets it", but unfortunately it is beyond the scope of his practice to remove this baby from my body, so I need to find someone else to do so. It would have helped me so much if this book would have tackled the subject of the various labor & delivery (surgical and non) options that are out there from the perspective of those with a thyroid disorder - that is really what I wanted from this book. The book, however, jumped straight from pregnancy to the postpartum period, barely acknowledging that something pretty important happens in between! Admittedly, I read only the chapters that appear to apply to me, but I also read the index. The index makes no mention of any of the childbirth topics that one might want to have covered in a book like this. I will read the book cover to cover soon, but potential buyers should note that the book omits some subjects that are very relevant to the subject matter that it does cover. The book does remind the reader to bring one's own thyroid meds to the hospital, which tip is pretty much worth the price of the book in any event, given that the common advice is not to bring your meds to the hospital (since the hospital will insist on giving you their $100 Tylenol, etc., in any event). It is doubtful that the hospital will have any effective thyroid meds on hand, and receiving the horrid synthetics during the days when one is most in need of appropriate thyroid meds is one nightmare scenario that this book has helped me to avoid.

Highly recommend this read for those struggling with infertility, thyroid complications, or hormonal imbalances. I've recommended this to several people, including my doctor. The book is very well organized and easy to understand. The book is current, meaning the dietary recommendations and supplements suggested are not outdated like the dietary guidelines. The book breaks information down by thyroid condition (hypo, hyper, autoimmune, cancer) and then by stage (preconception, pregnancy, post, etc). You won't be disappointed in this book.

I poured my heart and soul into this book in memory of the baby I miscarried needlessly to hypothyroidism. I'm proud of this book that I created with my thyroid hero Mary Shomon. I hesitated to write a review for my own book but I wanted to let all those that have read my book and left comments here how much I appreciate them and to all those considering purchasing my book that I know there is hope to have miracle babies with thyroid disease. Why? Because hope happened to me.

This was a gift for a dear friend of mine after she suffered a miscarriage. She has sense gotten pregnant again and is due in August 2017

Good information to know for Hashimotos women. So many things extra we have to know to maintain health or even think about for pregnancy to be possible.

This book is incredible and I don't know why it doesn't have more reviews! It is very in-depth. I am a practitioner and I read it for research. However I'd recommend it to any woman who has or suspects thyroid disease and plans to get pregnant. It can save you a lot of heart break, as the cost of not knowing some of these things can result in miscarriage or stillbirth. My one mixed review is that the authors tend to look at one point from the lens of multiple sources before drawing a conclusion. This gives you a thorough understanding but adds length to the book.

Very informative book! I hope to be better prepared for our next pregnancy.

Brendan Behan once wrote, "It's nice to be Irish, but would you want your daughter to marry one?" Well, I married an Irishman, and I recognize so much of the culture in this book. The story is mainly about clever--oh SO clever-boys who grow up in a post-war Ireland that is depressed financially, repressed by the Church and family rules, fathers who take to beating their progeny and of course drinking. These little boys have little to play with, and using their imagination to follow their curiosity, invent games more dangerous than rugby, built structures for fights, complete with traps. They have fun, they bleed, they make up stories for their Ma's about their black eyes and ruined Sunday jackets. But the writing is excellent, I could feel every punch and feel every kiss. Much affection accompanies the ongoing "wars". So HA HA Paddy Clarke and thank you, Roddy Doyle for a brilliant and moving book.

Voice driven and full of fun, tragedy and exhuberance! Must read.

I bought this book because it had a good price on Book Bub, decent reviews, and a Booker prize, I but couldn’t get interested enough in the characters and story. It was fine.

I found book tedious. Much of book was about the school boys and their misdeeds, their bullying and fighting. The last quarter of the book dealt with how he handled his family issues but book never revealed the cause of the issues. I would not recommend this book.

After reading this book, I am almost inclined to go back and change my review of David Mitchell's Black Swan Green, which owes a tremendous debt to Paddy Clarke Ha Ha Ha.Doyle's book is a marvel not because of a particularly ambitious plot but rather because he captures the fickle nature of pre-adolescence as experienced by the pre-adolescent. I don't say this to belittle the family drama the eponymous character lives through. However, the drama is especially compelling only because we get a truly believable stream of consciousness narrative that magnifies the banality of it all in much the same way it would be magnified in any child's mind.Stream of consciousness narratives can be difficult to follow at times. Even though this one, like many others, is chronologically non-linear, it is not willfully opaque. It moves authentically through Paddy's days with his friends and schoolmates, juxtaposing his peer relationships with his family ones.Doyle's book is a pleasure to read, and stylistically brilliant. There is every reason pick it up. And pair Black Swan Green with this one, not Catcher in the Rye.

This was my second Roddy Doyle novel and I loved it. The voice is incredibly, wonderfully strong and the story so small and yet so very, painfully, universally large ...

I recognized myself every page. Brought back memories that were long gone (I’m 66). Non stop prodigious crafting totally fun

Slow read, and trouble holding my interest. Glad to be off this train of thought.
