This book is such a good text when working toward the CAPM or PMP. The PMBOK is great, but more of a reference point to me. This book is an easy read and gives you an easier read. I am thankful that I read this book because I passed my CAPM on the first try! Definitely recommend to anyone wanting to learn on their own or wanting something to make a PM class a little easier.Note: this book corresponds and references the PMBOK.

The content is pretty good. Decent real life examples. I love XKCD comics but it feels forced having them as cutesy "examples" in this book. I find the typos and inconsistencies very distracting and frustrating. Feels like they didn't have a professional copyeditor proofread the final copy.

The book came in perfect condition. I bought it used, but it looks like it is brand spanking new!

This was a gift and I've given it 5 stars because I loved looking through it myself and hope my hiking friends will enjoy it as well. Lovely presentations covering a wide variety of options - very global and interesting.

The book is still in its package, yet their are black marks underneath the plastic.Unfortunately, this was a gift, and I didn't open the box until after the return window closed.

My sons love this book, they are hikers and explorers and this book is very interesting to them! The interior is beautifully photographed and well written. Great as a coffee table book too!

Nice picture book

I received this book as a gift for my 40th birthday. As an experienced long distance hiker, I am always looking for that next trip to take or trail to dream about hiking. This is the perfect book to sit around with a cup of coffee in the morning and learn about a new trail somewhere in the world to dream about exploring. The photos are fantastic, the route info is just enough to get you to go google up more info, and the writing is just enough to keep you engaged but not bore you.If you have a hiker in your life or someone who enjoys traveling this is the perfect book.

I really enjoyed this book. The combination of informative descriptions and breathtaking photos has added dozens of years to my to do list.

The book itself is pretty great but the quality of the hard cover itself is lacking. The day after i took shipment the hard cover bowed in the middle. I returned it and ordered another - same thing. I wouldn't normally care (books are meant to be read) but considering this is a $40 hard cover coffee table style book its disappointing. Admittedly it is dry in Calgary (causing the bowing i believe) but I have dozens of other books here that haven't had this problem.

While at the Botanical Gardens Library in Cleveland researching options for "organic" pest control for vegetable gardening, and home pest control (for ants,carpenter bees, etc) I paged through a table full of books. MY goal was to formulate a pesticide that would control garden and home pests, yet be so non-toxic as to be potentially edible by humans. My focus included using essential plant oils as active ingredients, but was open to other non-toxic solutions as well. While pour over a number of volumes and as a side I pulled this book off the shelf, knowing full well that it was not going to specifically address my issues in depth. After I reviewed this volume I quickly discovered I was wrong. "Common Sense Pest Control" is very broad in scope, covering everything from wood-rot, to bats, to ants, to slugs and offers "common sense" approaches to controlling, eliminating, and in some cases: living with, common pests. After finding great information for my specific research in this book, I realized this was a reference that I should not be without in the future. The book is older, but newer information on the subject that I have found, leans more to chemical-sense solutions rather than common-sense. Amazingly I discovered that this hidden gem was dirt cheap in perfect condition hardcover here on Amazon. Highly recommended - a secret bargain -- I debated writing a customer review about this book, as I was going to purchase 4-5 of them and give them to friends and family as gifts. (Please leave me a few.)

So much information but all of it useful. Whether you are an organic farmer, a backyard gardener or somewhere in between you will benefit from perusing this tome for advice every time you have a pest issue regardless of its form (animal, mineral or vegetable). I have an organic farm and have recommended this latest edition to everyone that will stand still long enough to listen.

It's missing a lot on entomology. The section it does have is pretty brief. Overall it's a good guide, but it is not a good reference to troubleshoot sick plants.

Great integrated pest management without using nasty pesticides. I showed it to a Master Gardener and she is getting a copy to add to her library.

A most intriguing novel that, for me, started out a little slow. After the first 3 chapters, however, there was an air of mystery in this that kept my attention until the very end. Another mystery also surfaces which adds to the intrigue.Joanna Toule, a field biologist, was studying Indigo Buntings in Southern Illinois. Loving nature, I was drawn to this lady with her talents for locating the nests. And, after that the manner in which these nests and birds were recorded and later analyzed. One quote that I loved: 'In nature, the winner is the one that produces the most young'. For nature lovers, there is more than ample bird information and some interesting tidbits about water beetles and addis flies.A young girl, Ursa appears and there is a mystery surrounding her. Who is she and where did she come from? There is a neighbor, Gabriel Nash, that is called the Egg Man. He also has an air of mystery around him.The author touches on cancer survival and how it affects a person afterwards. This was extremely well done as it included not only the survivor but also friends. The stigma that is attached to certain types of cancer are also covered.Depression is also covered in depth...There are many causes of depression and it may be the result of genetics or environment. Lots of questions concerning this....is one able to recover with love and happiness?Another quote that I loved 'Sometimes a bad thing has to happen to make a good thing happen'. Looking back at my personal life (70 + years), this is so true. The things I thought were so bad at the time, turned out to be the best outcome.Lots in this one including the mystery of Ursa, a family mystery that is also solved. The importance of forgiveness in life is also covered. The author ties everything up at the end...very nicely and all the answers are there.. An interesting mix of characters also contributed to the plot... Loved the independence of Tabby! I would like to meet her and have a conversation!Highly recommended.Please note that this is my First Reads selection for FEB 2019.

I downloaded this book this afternoon as a Kindle First Look. I finished it a half hour ago. The characters were achingly real, the dialogue authentic, the emotions raw, and the plot had just the right twist to remain plausible with the rest of the story. Brilliant first novel! My only regret is that it wasn't a little longer- can't wait for a sequel to revisit these characters!

As far as free books go, I thought this one was pretty ok. The pacing was good as the writing flowed well. I was a little bored by how often i had to read about what time the characters woke up and what they had for dinner but I'm sure there are readers who like those details. The biggest hangup i had about this book was how unlikable the main character was. She was written as a step above everybody else in her knowledge and experiences but only because everybody else was written as ridiculous human parodies. The cops were bad at their jobs, the social worker was bad at her job, rural people were so dumb that they couldn't possibly have read Shakespeare or identify a cardinal as anything other than a red bird.It's a shame because this book had a lot going for it too, but that removed simplistic view of the world made it hard to take seriously.

I downloaded it, read a couple of chapters and deleted it off my kindle. This is typically the kind of book that I like but the whole beginning of this was so ridiculous that I couldn't even stand it. She meets this kid who within in the first five minutes basically says I'm an alien and that she heard cheese is good. Seriously .... awful writing.... moving on

I devoured this delectable treat in one day! Could not, would not put it down! It takes skill to tell Ursa’s story so believably.

Where the Forest Meets the Stars is a unique and mostly unpredictable story about a random connection between a little girl and a lonely woman. The story is captivating and flows in an authentic way as their lives get more entwined. I was impressed to see this is a debut novel. I read it over a twelve hour period and when I had to put the book down, I couldn't quit thinking about it. The ending was a little drawn out as the storylines are pulled all together, and there is a subplot with a secondary character's family backstory that seemed unnecessary. These were tiny bumps in a well told story. If you like stories where you can root for the characters and watch them overcome pain from their past, this one's for you!

This political play won the 2017 Tony Award (it also should have won the 2017 Pulitzer (both this and "A Doll's House, Part 2" are better than Lynn Nottage's "Sweat" (which I think is very good)). It's a first rate modern political play (others I hold in high esteem are "A Walk in the Woods," "All the Way," the unknown "Stuff Happens," and "An American Daughter").This play takes place between April 1992 and September 1993 and is about the behind the scenes talks that led to the Oslo Accords that were signed in Washington, DC between the Israelis and Palestinians. While there are numerous characters in the play, there are eight major ones. Their characters are both well developed and have interesting lines. Mr. Rogers is unsparing in how the Israeli's and Palestinian's speak to each other when angry, but does a wonderful job in having them bond over human issues. There are several truly wonderful and hopeful moments.When discussing how the Palestinians would handle control over Gaza, the Israeli lawyer asks the PLO representatives a number of very specific questions. The Palestinians dismiss them at first, and the lawyer says, "Garbage and taxes is what a government does. If you want us to give you the authority to be a government, then this joint document must spell out exactly how you will be a government." Brilliant

The names were confusing. A paper book would have been easier to navigate. The subject matter was extremely interesting and I am glad that I read it.

I purchased this book for my husband. He has read the majority of western in excistance and loves Louis L'Amour. He says he enjoys these because he can sit down and read every evening and have a reason to stop at a reasonable hour. He has started paraphrasing the stories to our sons 4 and 6 and they are also enjoying these books. He says it is almost always the same story line, but the details are what makes it so interesting.

I like the short stories. Every one is difficult to put down. You can't go wrong with this book. It can easily be read more than once.

There are not enough words to express the genius of Louis L'Amour. He is just the best and I've rest all the books and most of the short stories.
