I wouldn't call this book a dictionary per se, as it is not in alphabetical order, nor is it in chronological order, or any other order that I've figured out. Having said that, I really enjoy this visual "dictionary" of the current Dr. Who. The graphics are phenomenal and it's really fun to read all the snippets of information with each photo. There's even a fold out page for the TARDIS. It's very up-to-date, which is hard to do when a series is still in production. The cover is fantastic with 3-D images and the current Doctor appearing and disappearing in front of the TARDIS. It is chock-full of photos of every conceivable aspect of the re-booted TV series. As such, it doesn't include much on the classic series. There is a page for Sarah Jane Smith and one for K-9, but I assume that is because they made an appearance on the rebooted series. There is also a "sidebar" on pages 14-15 containing photos of all the past Doctors and why they regenerated, which is too little information on the classic series. All-in-all I would heartily recommend this exquisite photo-packed volume to any fan of the current Dr. Who series.

I have bought several Doctor Who books & 'dictionaries' lately & this is definitely my favorite! It's a hardcover with a beautiful, lenticular cover; is full of high-quality pictures, and basic facts about the current Doctor, Clara & the characters they've encountered (that only a few recent books would have). It makes a perfect present for Whovians, especially fans of the newer Doctors! :)The only 'negatives' (sort of) are the facts that it's a 'Dictionary,' so doesn't have in-depth summaries, commentaries or explanations about the epidodes, and focuses on Peter Capaldi (the newest, 12th Dr), Matt Smith & David Tennant. So if you're looking for a comprehensive book about the first 11 doctors, the older 50th Essential Guide, Doctor's Lives & Times, etc would be a better fit. As mentioned, only a few recent ones will cover Peter Capaldi (2014 & 2015 seasons).So it's a beautiful, 'fancy' hardcover that's perfect for Doctor Who fans who would enjoy BASIC, FUN FACTS WITH TONS OF GORGEOUS PICTURES about the newer Doctors, their companions, and other characters+monsters that they meet. The topics are NOT in alphabetical order, but the Table of Contents on pages 4&5 provide a full list of what's covered in the 173 pages (prior to the Index & Acknowledgments).It includes info & pictures on the Doctor's different anatomy/organs (ie. 2 hearts, brain), regenerations, sonic screwdrivers & other 'tools,' THE TARDIS (there's a pull-out section), River, the UNIT, the Master, companions (including Sarah Jane Smith & K9), other characters (Danny Pink, Captain Jack, Madame Vestra, Jenny, Strax), and different monsters, species, planets, space stations (tons on Daleks of course, Weeping Angels, Cybermen, the Jagrafess, Prisoner Zero, the Alliance, Star Whale, Krillitanes, Peg Dolls, Smilers, Kahler, Karabraxos, Half-Face Man, SS Madame de Pompadour, Skovox Blitzer, Satellite 5, Platform One, etc).Keeping this copy & planning to buy more as gifts! :)

Disappointed. Very good book overall, but the title is pretty misleading. This doesn't even begin with the Ninth Doctor who rebooted the series. It's all 10, 11, and 12. Good content, certainly. Talks about their enemies and companions. I had hoped for something encompassing the series- at least the whole of the new series, but also had hoped for the original portion to be represented as well. A good book, to be sure. But know it's not as expanded as you might hope.

This is a brilliant way to find a good, concise who's who and what's what of the Doctor Who universe.And, they do update them every couple years.The price isn't bad for the size of the book, and the pages are full of goodies with a couple "fold-outs" that are marvelous.The lenticular cover makes the doctor appear and disappear in front of the TARDIS...well done.I'd recommend this for any fan of the good Doctor.

I bought this for a Christmas present for my 13 year old son. He loves it! He has read it all the way through several times. The photos are great and the information is interesting and detailed. We are all Doctor Who fans at our house so we've all been reading this book. There are a lot of Doctor Who books out there, and I highly recommend this one for your collection and I know you won't be disappointed!

Very cool book for Whovians! The cover is one of the coolest 3d holographic pictures I have ever seen, it looks like you should be able to reach out and touch the pictures. Inside the amazing hardback cover isn bunch of high quality pictures and descriptions of all kinds of Doctor Who stuff to keep a true fan happy.

For a newbie to the Dr. Who series this is a great find. It has been a great help in filling gaps due to earlier episodes I missed. Well illustrated and very comprehensive as far as I can tell. I found everything I have looked up (~20). One caution though, if you haven't seen all the episodes, beware the "spoilers".

Pretty good variety, and I love the way it is put together. Every song has the melody in standard notation and in tabs, chord symbols and chord diagrams for Ukelele. Very, very nice! The ukulele chord diagrams are laid out perpendicular to the way I am used to, but that's just something you get used to, not a negative.I'd give it a 5 star rating, but I have found a few mistakes; a chord is obviously missing in some places, or more rarely (only once that I've found) they just plain put the wrong chord. Sounded terrible! (Needed a D7, not a D.)There are several songs that a different chord sounded a little better, so I just wrote in those chords next to the others as an alternative.One of the things I really like about this book, too, is that there is a whole section on different strumming patterns, a section for picking patterns, as well as a basic chords chart. Really nice for a beginner, like me.

It is a good beginner book. It has a lot of the folksy songs in it. The cord charts are a bit confusing at first. Instead of having the fretboard verticle like most books do, they turn it horizontal. At least for me, it's easier with verticle cord charts are easier to read. The book is made of very high quality, sturdy paper & cover so it can handle being taken out and about.

Excellent book for uke beginners/advanced beginners. Songs have from 2-9 chords, although most have 3-5. As in all of Balinger's uke books, there is a wonderful section in the back with helpful strumming patterns and finger-picking patterns for those who want to play beyond beginner strumming.

This guy couldn't have actually played these tunes before printing this "revised edition". Man what lame chord changes!!! Chord errors abound on these simple, simple tunes. He puts is extra chords that just don't fit. Does Amazon allow returns on music books???

With my styling of playing I can usually just look up the lyrics and chords for any song and play it. I also have found most of the song choices in the Daily Ukulele to be very playable. This work is just not very interesting as far as song choices go. Also the choice of keys might be questioned. Several songs I play are much easier in other keys. What is done fairly well is the tablature for picking individual melodies. But to that I would note that the author primarily only uses the C, E, and A strings.

I'm a beginner. It's a great resource, but it takes a lot of work for me to do some of those chords. It's forcing me to practice, practice, practice! It's a good selection of songs and I'm glad I bought it.

great book and a great bargain; good songs has tab also; this one and vol 2 could be improved by making a binding that lays flat. I took mine to Kinko*s and they wire bound them so that they lay flat WOW what a difference a binding makes!!!

Bought this for my teenage granddaughter. It's okay but there are much better books for a beginning learner. Plus, she didn't know most of the songs. I'll keep it to use myself but recommend the Daily Ukelele Fake Book for young ukelele players. It is more expensive but has modern songs that they can relate to and clearer instructions.

I have always been interested in the topic of aging. I have read everything from blue zones to ageless and Jillian knocks it out of the park with The 6 Keys. This is by far the most in depth book i've read on the subject and the program is comprehensive yet manageable. The science in the beginning of the book can seem a it overwhelming at first, but Jillian breaks it down in a way that makes it easier to understand, but most importantly the action steps are easier to follow.Jillian breaks down the plan into the following: Mind/Body, Nutrition, Exercise, Lifestyle, and Environment. I I particularly found the mind body section of the book fascinating and loved how she broke down all fad diets and explained what works, what doesn't and why.I can't tell you how the plan has taken years off my life yet, but I can tell you it's an eye opening read. Highly recommend it if you are interested in looking better and feeling better inside and out.

This book is sooooo good, it's beyond what I expected. I have read hundreds of other books but this one is UNIQUE. I will not write more, cause I don't want to spoil it for you, I will only add this book inspired me and it can change your life too. Choice is yours. Thank you Jillian Michaels.

I bought The Six Keys for a plane ride over the holidays and couldn't put it down. I've read a couple of Jillian's other books and know a lot about nutrition and health but was pleasantly surprised by the amount of cutting edge research featured in The Six Keys along with practical ways to live stronger and better. Jillian provides intelligent, safe ways to minimize the effects of aging in a voice that is honest and empowered and has fundamentally changed the way I think about getting older. Highly recommended!

Jillian Michaels' books are well written and researched and this one is no difference. Great book and very informative, you will find this book a great addition yo your personal library.

Just got the book today and already have learned so many helpful tips for healthy aging - including drinking wine! Unlike many health and wellness books, Jillian combines her personal humor with understandable science (damn, she did A LOT of research for this one!) and great takeaways. It's not for one type of person, it's for all of us who want to live longer and age gracefully. No better time to read than over the holidays and to use her teachings for 2019. Highly recommend.

Pretty quick read. Beware, this is not a weight loss book. Its about longevity. I didnt find much that i hadn't heard abour but the book explained the concepts well. If you like Jillian's work, you will probably enjoy this as i did.

It is still a great read and she speaks a lot of truth in relation to individualism. Of course there are sections of the book where she speaks about her spiritual journey and it may sound crazy to the average reader, but this is Kelly Cutrone here. Everything is going to sound as an anomaly in the life of a business woman who has executed million dollar events in seventy-two hour time periods and has gone to hell and back multiple times.

I'm a fan of Kelly and I LOVED her first book but this one was very disappointing. It's as if, following the success of her first book she said "I am going to write whatever I want to and no one is going to edit it or give me feedback about it." It covers the surface of a lot of political issues without being open about them or digging deeper into why anyone disagrees with her (except: "they want to be normal/are a consumer"). It's also really scattered.

I loved her strong voice. She writes as if she is talking to you. Loved it.

An amazing succession to her first book, "If You Have To Cry, Go Outside," Cutrone dives into deeper issues with complete honesty and witty humor that leaves readers feeling inspired. Topics in the book are what many people have contemplated between one another in conversations for years but have never had the nerve to stand up and defend their beliefs or opinions for the sake of revolutionizing change in multiple aspects of current issues and self-awakening. She stands up on a literary soap box to encourage people to question, reflect and embrace free thinking for positive reformations in society. "Normal Gets You Nowhere" is a fresh, powerful read that will ignite your ambitions and encourage readers to embrace their true self as an unique individual, no apologies necessary. This book busted open the barrier that will branch out to many different groups of people like gas to a match. A fabulous starting point to the "people's revolution" that will result from her influence to embrace their own paths. True culture changing material.

I read Kelly's first book on a long day of travel last October. I had seen her on TV here and there and was struck by how unfeeling she seemed. I was interested in what makes her tick. Her first book was fascinating, inspiring, a must read! I read it in one day and was sad when it was finished, it was that good. So I had high hopes for her 2nd effort. I was disappointed because it is more of a how to be a good, feeling individual but not let your originality be squashed. There are many of those books out there. I wanted to know more about Kelly and the amazing journey she is on, and how she has thrived. We can all learn from people's personal accounts of their highs & lows more than the "you should do this" or "you should try and do that" type advice. I say, read her first, skip this one.

Another great book by this author on surviving in a competitive industry and living a rewarding business and personal life with some balance in it. I bought this book for my college aged daughter and she loves it. I hope it continues to inspire her as she makes her way through school and out into the world.

If you are a business woman you need to heed the advice of Ms. Kelly Cutrone. She understands work is not emotion playtime, it's business. You have to branch out of society norm, try and work hard for your dreams and be successful at your trade. There's no crying in business.

This is another out of the ball park book from Kelly Cutrone. Her no-nonsense, tell it like it is style, seems so rare in our world today. Her candor opens up pertinent questions that we should be asking in our internal, community and global dialogues. For those of us who have come to realize the power of compassion, Ms. Cutrone harmonizes with that perspective, acknowledging and acting on the fact that we can no longer only interrelate with a small circle of people. She calls on inspirational people such as Eleanor Roosevelt and John Trudell and modern day saints such as Amma and The Mother. Rather than relying only of the influence of the narcissistic conspicuous consumers of our day, she offers that we call to mind the inspiration of real heros and sheros, and in my mind Kelly Cutrone is one of them. She does what she can to really show up in the world by honoring her uniqueness and she empowers readers to do the same, for the benefit of ourselves, our community and our world.
