About the Author

JULIE CATALANO, MSW, LICSW, is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who has been a practicing psychotherapist for more than 20 years. She is a graduate of the Boston University School of Social Work. Prior to entering social work, Ms. Catalano was the editor of the East Boston Community Newspaper in East Boston, Massachusetts, and taught English in Poland for two years as part of the WorldTeach program. Ms. Catalano worked as a community mental health clinician for Catholic Charities in Lawrence, Massachusetts, and as a family therapist and outreach clinician for the Family Center, Inc. (now the Parenting Journey) in Somerville, Massachusetts. Ms. Catalano is the director of Neighborhood Counseling and Community Services, Inc., a nonprofit community mental health group practice dedicated to keeping community mental health services accessible to all. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers Massachusetts Chapter. Ms. Catalano resides in Somerville, Massachusetts, with her husband, two children, and their dog, Fluffy. Foreword writer DR. SANDRA P. THOMAS holds BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Education, as well as an MSN, all received from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Dr. Thomas chairs the PhD program and teaches doctoral courses at the University of Tennessee, College of Nursing. She focuses on phenomenological approaches to teaching and research. I am working with the book at the suggestion of a friend. However, neither she nor I were prepared for the consistent promotion of alternative lifestyles. I guess the re-write of the book was meant to be politically correct at the cost of truly helping females deal with anger in a healthy way in t male-female relationships. Next time I will read the first chapter before purchasing.

This book has done wonders for me. I am only about half way through and already noticing a difference. It's given me great techniques to use and has taught me to be mindful of my thoughts. It's doesn't tell you that anger is bad, it just helps you deal with how you react to it. It has a handful of her previous clients and uses their stories as apart of the lessons. It helps to normalize the feelings you have and it makes me feel like I'm not alone I'm feeling this way. Also, it has you break down and evaluate situations that made you angry and helps you identify triggers and learn how to change your response in a difficult situation.

I think this is a great book for any woman with anger issues!! Each chapter has questions to answer that are very helpful.

It was well presented and offered s clear approach to overcoming excessive anger.

So far the book has been very helpful!! I'm trying to take care of my anger on my own as I don't have the money for an anger management class. I have recommended this particular book to many different women I know.

I found this book very helpful as when you are angry depending on how you grew up you don't how to handle your anger. I know for me I come from a home with my dad used to throw things considered not handle his anger or express himself and I don't want to be that woman although I find myself recently unable to express myself appropriately. I wanted to learn how to talk appropriately again with people I love because somehow I had lost the way to express myself and I found that I needed to listen more and not just fly off the handle's to what people were saying to me and they needed to do the same to when I speak. What a great tips in here for anybody that's learning to manage any anger they may be feeling.I got this book for free in exchange for product review although this is solely my own opinion me different from yours I was in no way swayed to give a positive or negative review just because it was free.
