As the old Zen saying goes "No seed ever sees the flower."A pivotal message in the book relates to the personal growth that only comes from finding your own way through the trials and tribulations of life. Those experiences enable those life lessons that shape character and frame our existence on Planet Earth. Although The KOMS deals with remarkable people and accomplishment, the underlying message is that no matter one’s stature in life, giving back is a vital part of advancing mankind. The species is more important than the individuals that comprise its evolutionary course.As I age, the more I appreciate things with chips, dents and fractures. They are no longer broken items but treasures that have endured much like the characters in this novel.
