This is quickly becoming one of my favorite books for myself and to give people as gifts. This book is SO well written and walks young adults through how to handle the major things of life with a different and better perspective. If you think you have life figured out in your 20s or 30s, like I thought I did, I'd highly recommend picking up this book. The truths written in this book will change the trajectory of your life in the best way possible and give your life purpose.

This book is incredible. JP helps to navigate all of the things young adults go through, from relationships to finances and everything in between. He does this all while pointing to the Gospel and how a life lived for Christ is a life well lived. Can’t recommend this book enough!!

This book was incredibly disappointing and laughable at some sections as the religious aspect completely takes over; especially in the second half. The title was misreading into thinking this book would show me how to navigate faith itself as well as other aspects of adult life not how to navigate all of those things WITH faith. Some of the "advice" given was close minded and some sources given showed clear bias. I even felt as though my own views simply made me helpless via the advice being given. If you are not a devote christian or even remotely feel removed from the church or religion as a whole, this book will not help you.

I am already way into my “adulting” years, but this was a great book. I have read it and passed it on to my oldest child and then it will go on to my middle child. This book has so much useful information and I am sure will help out my girls out greatly. I got this book for a class, to get a few points extra credit and I am so glad that it was picked for this reason. I have looked at the negative reviews for this book and it blows my mind that the negative remarks are due to the amount of faith-based information in the book. It is written by a pastor and is meant to show young adults how to “adult” and do it with faith and strength.All in all, this is a great book to show young adults the way to guide themselves through life with faith and understanding of what they need to do. Great book and a must read.

Even if some of these chapters echo teachings you have heard before, JP still has a way of getting at the heart of the "why" of all these subjects that makes what he's saying all the more compelling. It's obvious that this book is intended to be a helpful resource and nothing else, just a message the author really believes in. It's hard to move forward from reading this book without taking a deep look at your life and being prompted to make some changes. Great stuff.

I haven't finished it yet, but this book is profound. JP speaks truth that is sorely need by folks growing up and becoming adults in this day and age. I am really impressed by how well it is written, too. It reads really well and is very engaging. JP is a phenomenal story-teller. I wish I had this book when I was in my early twenties!!!

This is the perfect graduation gift! Wonderful if you have any children 18-35! The subtitle is exactly what the book does- helps young adults navigate faith, friendships, finances and the future. So much wisdom and biblical truths, relevant to anyone in their 20s or 30s. Whether they are graduating high school, college, or they are in their 30s hitting their head against the real world- this book is for them! If your nest is not so empty, I’d also encourage you to buy this book as a subtle hint. ;) I bought 9 copies for gifts! The audible book is narrated by the author and is engaging and fun. If you are 18-35 or looking to get to know this demographic better, this book is for you! There are questions after every chapter which makes it a great read for a small group!

I've been listening to JP's teaching for almost eight years, so it's safe to say I've heard much of this book vocally from a stage. Still, JP manages to dig deeper using words on paper to get to the heart of the adult life. He has a powerful story of redemption that gives hope to those who are are a little lost and looking for some direction. Read this book and take some time to see where you are.

Whether you agree or disagree with Wise's conclusions - and they are pretty mind-blowing - there can be no denying the breadth of his knowledge nor the depth of his research into the ongoing mystery that is MH370. At this price, it's a must-read for anyone who isn't willing to simply give up and say, "I guess we'll never know what happened".That said, a few more graphics - maps, in particular - would have helped Wise advance his narrative in a much more cohesive way, especially for those not familiar with the aviation and engineering arcana of the flight and various search efforts. (A proofreader/editor would have also been a worthwhile investment in several places, too.)

Jeff Wise is a tireless investigator and intellectual hero. No one should dare offer an opinion about Russia’s global ambitions without reading this page- turner. He has cracked the case of MH370 and the implications of his meticulous research are jaw dropping. In time, this book will be seen as far more consequential than the Mueller investigation. How is this story not dominating 24 hour news? When I read Wise’s initial theory four years ago, I thought his argument was compelling, but unprovable. Now he has come back with more evidence. Case closed.

This book with short chapters has at least two values. It's a good, broad overview of the thousands of internet exchanges and minute arguments Wise had with other researchers about theories concerning the loss of MH370. (I was an avid reader of those for a long time.) Second, for me, it provides intriguing new questions about Blaine Alan Gibson's biography and, specifically, his Russia connections. Importantly, Wise offers a "speculative scenario" about the fate of MH370 as an appendix, but not an actual conclusion.Wise's speculation could be correct. The plane could have flown north to the Russian cosmodrome and made a Category III auto landing instead of crashing into the Southern Indian Ocean. My speculation is that the math associated with the Inmarsat signals was inaccurate or that, if accurate, the searches simply missed finding the underwater remains along the 7th arc. To me, the mystery continues.

MH370 is a riddle wrapped in an enigma. Jeff Wise unwraps each event chapter by chapter and leads us to congruity. MH370 is more a social mystery than a scientific one. Only when you are willing to broaden your perspective and look outside the data can you see the big picture.

Sherlock Holmes once said "When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth". Jeff Wise eliminates a lot of the impossible in this book. The alternatives to the standard explanation of MH370 are wildly improbable, to be sure... But so many aspects of "the standard explanation" have turned out to be impossible that we really do have to give the wildly improbable a good hard look. Highly recommended.

You must not miss this incredible exploration of the true-life mystery and phenomenon that has baffled millions and left some of the world's most brilliant minds scratching their heads. In this stunning follow-up to his previous book "The Plane That Wasn't There", Jeff Wise lays aside any remaining doubt that he is an authority on this subject. There are no puzzles in this book., however there are pages to list the names and addresses of people you'd like to mail post cards too and pages titled, "What I want to do before I go", "What I want to see and do on our trip" and "What I want to bring on my trip." It is also smaller in size...6" x 9" vs 8" x 9".It has a very simple layout...space for recording the date, weather, "what we did today", "Some food I ate", and "What I liked Best" along with an area to draw a picture of something that you did that day. There are 14 of these sets of pages, enough for a two-week trip. At the end, there is a lined page titled "Things I will remember from our trip."Very simple layout but enough for a younger child...not overwhelming to have to do.Not sure it is worth the price.

Other than the cover that says "Thailand", there was nothing that made this journal specific to that vacation destination. Every page contained the same few items for kids to report on, and it looked worse than if the pages had been printed from a Word document and assembled into a book. We didn't use this item at all; instead, we used the Kids Travel Guide to Thailand- much more worth the money. I had hoped to return the item, but unfortunately it's past the time that it can be returned. I would NOT recommend this journal to anyone.

This is a total rip-off. Except for the little cloud on the front cover, there is nothing in this mentioning Disneyland. It's a thin notebook of cheap paper, with black and white pages for making lists and drawing pictures. The only color is on the covers. I'm certain that this is sold as a journal for every place people travel, with the word Disneyland on the cloud changed. It is nothing like its description. I'm returning it. I spent a little more and got what I wanted. This sure wasn't it.

I was even more pleased with this once I saw it. Small enough to tuck in a carryon entertainment bag. Has pages at the beginning to write what the child hopes to see when they get there. Separate page for each day to record what they did with space for their own illustration or to glue in a post card. My just-finished-1st-grade grandson is traveling to Alaska this summer and this will provide a perfect place to do a little writing, a little drawing, include postcards or photos, and have a mini scrapbook of his trip when he is done. Love it!

I was excited to purchase a fun travel journal for my daughter to use on our upcoming trip to Cancun. Unfortunately, the journal is very generic and not Cancun related at all. In fact, the only place that says "Cancun" is the cover. The journal pages are plain and generic with "what I did today" and "draw something you saw today" for 14 days. It is a waste of money. I'm disappointed it was not more fun and Cancun specific.

71 pages long. The front of the book is lined and guides some list making, the back is blank if you wish to continue journaling. Each day of your trip (up to day 14) offers your child a chance to write about the day and the next page page allows space for drawing. Interesting idea, but I was hoping for a bit more. Honestly, I could create this myself in about 30 minutes with a notebook and a just a few writing prompts.

I wish they would have show an example of a page, in order to gauge the age group this was geared toward. This is much too young for my 9 y.o. daughter. Will return and order a different one. For younger kids this seems to be good. Not too overwhelming - lots of drawing space. Simple design. Geared more towards 5 yo’s in my opinion.

My Mother wanted. a travel journal, for my 7 yr old niece who was going to Germany. The return trip was through NYC, where they would stay a few days. This is the cutest little journal and is great for allowing the child's personal thoughts.

There are tons of palettes all sorted by mood, and I love that each chapter has inspirational collages that pull from fashion, art, design, and craft. I'm surprised I hadn't heard more about this book when it first released. I preorder in paperback because it was only $5 and really enjoyed the entire story. The first 50 pages were slow only because it took sometime to get used to all the names and who was who but after that the story quickly escalated and you're caught up in a world of jinni, prince & princess and wishes. I loved Najwa's story and her admiration of the prince from afar. I thought we got a true glimpse of Zayele on the beach with Atish, hopefully we get to see more of her true self in The Blind Wish. I love the magical world created and I'm looking forward to finding out more in book two. I'm hoping for more romance and the war to be settled.

On my quest for diversity in literature, I discovered a blog post about a white woman named Amber Lough who grew up in the Middle East and Japan, and then wrote a fantasy book about characters from that area, called The Fire Wish. Could a middle-aged white woman really do justice to a book about Arab teenagers in the desert? She seemed to have done her research, and I was willing to give it a shot. After all, who doesn’t like a book about genies? Djinn? Jinn? In this book: Jinn. Well, even if you aren’t a big fan of the topic, I strongly suggest you give this book a chance.The Plot: Zayele is a headstrong young teenager living in a small village three days’ travel away from Baghdad, in a time long before electronics. She is chosen, against her will, to be a prince’s bride in an act of good faith between the tribe and the palace. Zayele is desperate to get out of this arrangement, even considering running away with her blind younger brother, but eventually is forced to make the journey along with her older cousin Rahela, who is terrified of the jinn, having survived a jinn attack when Zayele was born.Najwa is a slightly timid teenaged jinni, just learning about her own abilities in her underground world. On one of her spy tests it turns out that she is the only jinni – anywhere – who can get past the human palace’s jinn wards and enter. She also discovers some very important information about a young girl who has been chosen to be the first bride of the younger prince (sound familiar?). Wanting to know more about this princess, Najwa breaks the rules and uses her invisibility spell to visit her. Then she gets caught. By the future princess.Zayele is delighted to have caught herself a real, live jinni, and demands a wish from her. Najwa is forced to grant Zayele’s wish to have Najwa take her place as the princess, but instead of returning home, Zayele finds herself taking Najwa’s place in the underground jinn caverns. Suddenly, neither girl is having nearly as much fun as she thought she would, and both must find a way to escape their situations without being caught. Najwa, with only the jinn-loathing Rahela as her ally, cannot wish herself out of her situation, and Zayele has quite a bit of difficulty pretending to be a jinni when she is not. With the impending royal marriage and both the jinn and humans on the verge of war, it is a race against time to set things right.The Verdict: Holy wow, I am a little embarrassed at how quickly I stalked Amber Lough’s twitter, tumblr, and personal website to find out when the next book comes out. The Fire Wish is told from alternating points of view, which made it a little difficult to follow at times, but even that could not slow down my voracious appetite to know what happened to these two girls. I wish (haha, get it?) I could say more about the plot of this book, but I’d be giving away some major spoilers, and this is one book I do NOT want to spoil for anyone.

I'm not a big fan of books written in the first person. And I'm especially not a big fan of two main characters who have the exact same personality being written in the first person. The beginning of this book had me completely confused. I wondered why they sometimes called her Najwa, and other times they called her Zayele, and why the writer kept switching back from her being trained as a Jinni and her being at home wondering why the Viziar has come calling. Until I got to the part where Zayele was shipped off to Baghdad, I did not even realize these were two different people. And what do you know, when the two meet on the barge to Baghdad, low and behold, they look exactly alike. So, I have to ding the book a couple of stars for not being clear, and for writing both characters in the first person in a way that just caused confusion.Otherwise, the storyline was okay, but I doubt I will read any following books in the series.

A fun take on well-known arabian folklore. I like it:}

Visually rich, lyrical in spots and filled with exciting, breath-holding moments. It's "The Prince and the Pauper" set in ancient Bagdad, but in this case the pauper is a Jinn. A wonderful read.

I really enjoyed the read. I had a hard time putting it down. I had never read anything about jinnis before and it was a breath of fresh air.

So so so so good! The audio book was great as well and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next one.

Predictable but interesting enough to keep you reading.
