I can say that this is really a good book for children because they can learn so many things about friendship and how to deal with anger. Actually adult too can learn lessons from this book. The pictures and illustrations are so beautiful. I think the author has a great passion in writing stories for children, he created this book with unique style. I truly enjoyed reading this book.

I totally agree with all six previous reviews. This book is excellent. Again.(Note for the author: Dragon's Fury has a mistake (repeated text accidentally pasted from the previous page; not relevant to the illustration) . Location 7/22. Bought for nephew who loves dinosaurs and has some trouble dealing with strong emotions. I'm told they wish they had this book sooner as it is wonderful and helps him deal with his strong emotions, like anger.

This is probably as easy-to-use as such an EAPG guide can be, given the vastness of the subject. The line drawings are clear and give a better sense of pattern than most photographs. I liked the way it was organized into pattern categories (Diamonds, Facets, Ribs and Columns, etc.), but found the amount of information about specific patterns varied widely. In my first attempt at using the Index, I discovered a mistake in the page number for "Jasper" (p. 156, not p. 158), but have generally been glad I added this paperback to my library.

No color pictures looks like someone just Hand drew these patterns total waste. It doesn’t tell you the value or collectible status either

I'm extremely disappointed with this book. I had gotten a later version of the same book from the library and thought that at least the pictures would be the same but they're not. They are very poorly drawn in comparison to the later version. Unfortunately the later version wasn't available on Amazon so I settled for this one. I'm afraid it was a waste of money.

There are better books for the money. Hand drawn examples do not come anywhere near close to actual pictures. The layout is logical, as in -- diamonds, circles, etc., but the actual information provided was not very helpful. This book will be one of the first to go as my library expands.

I had about 20 boxes of pressed and cut glass stored in our attic forever.Finally, I decided to sell it off to make space for other things. But I needed to identify all of those patterns.This book was recommended by some friends who were experts in EAPG (Early American Pattern Glass) and I ordered it.First, I must say that it is probably the most complete book of patterns available anywhere. I can't think of another book that has virtually every EAPG pattern ever made.However, it can be a challenge to get used to, because the indexing isn't as complete as it should be (the reason I didn't give it five stars). All of the possible combinations are not listed, which would make the index extremely long - but it would've made it much more useful. For instance, you could immediately find your piece by looking up "circle and fruit." But "circle and garland" or "fruit and garland" may not be there, even though the patterns are shown in the book.Also the drawings, while extremely accurate, are small so that you may pass right by a complex pattern that you're looking for. Simpler patterns, on the other hand, will pop right out.I think on the whole, though, this is THE book for anyone who has a pile of EAPG that they need to identify.After spending some time with it you'll figure out how it works, and you'll be referring to it often.

I bought the book because I am doing research on the pressed glass. The book was interesting and informative. It was a good choice although sometimes the way it is organized is a challenge.

Purchased as a gift for my daughter. She was excited to get it.

A funny and interesting journey into the home production of maple syrup. The comparison of Thoreau's life on Walden Pond and Perrin's life as a sugar maker. A wonderful trip through the process of syrup production.

I really enjoyed this book. It shows the experience of a "backyard sugarin'" guy in great detail while being very entertaining at the same time.

Noel Perrin is a great writer. I bought 5! It will be a great Christmas present for the non-Vermonters in the family.

When he wrote this account, Noel Perrin (1927-2004) was an English professor at Dartmouth. He also owned a Vermont farm, and the property included stands of sugar maples. It was only natural that he would be interested in setting up a small sugaring operation in order to process his own maple syrup. After all, that's what folks do, up here in New England.Being an admirer of Henry David Thoreau, Perrin sets out to do something special: he builds his sugar house as a replica of Thoreau's cabin at Walden Pond. The first third of "Amateur Sugar Maker" thus chronicles the building of the structure. Along the way, Perrin continually compares his expenses, the costs of materials and other statistics (in 1969) to Thoreau's own spreadsheet of 1845, well publicized in "Walden." What fun!But then Perrin has to acquire the proper sugaring equipment (after doing some research to discover exactly what he needs in the first place, of course). If he thought building the house was a tough task, he discovers that he's in for even more than he bargained for when he sets off to find buckets, a cask, and an evaporator small enough to fit into the space, since he unwittingly confined himself when he built such a tiny barn. His goal (in frugal N.E. fashion) is to find good used equipment instead of buying anything new. Being diligent about watching newspaper ads and hearing local tales puts him on the proper trails. Eventually his approach pays off, and he assembles and tests the process. The last part of the book is therefore spent emptying buckets and making a few bottles of syrup for sale in New York City.This paperback edition includes a postscript written in 1982, after Perrin and his family had been sugaring for 15 years. In the interim, he strung up tubing so that the sap ran directly to the sugar house, if it didn't freeze along the way. So this thin volume provides basic tips for other "amateur sugar makers" out there. It probably will also result in a few nods and guffaws from those hardy New Englanders who already have successful operations in place. Noel Perrin's narrative style is factual and funny all at once. I may need to read some of his other books about rural living. I'm saddened to learn that Perrin is no longer with us.

A real gem on how Noel Perrin started sugaring from his own trees. He's revised the book over 20 years, so he's learned from his own mistakes and successes. He has some pithy commentary on Thoreau's costs of cabin making versus his own, as well. And did you know that milk (just a drop) will calm a roiling boil?

Great book in the grand tradition of Stienstra's California Camping which my family treasured through many editions over the years. Thoroughly organized, very easy to browse or locate items of interest, jam packed with useful reference information that can otherwise be challenging to find (phone numbers, who offers reservations, etc.) Excellent maps. Great for planning, browsing, armchair imagining. Highly recommended.The single one-star review showing at the time I'm writing this contains very positive comments and the one-star is obviously an error!

Rather hard to use: the driving instructions provided are often inaccurate and/or ambiguous. Many roads are referred to by County Road number yet on-the-ground the same roads have local names that are not provided in the directions. Most instructions are written as for approach from a particular direction (say, from the east), so if you are coming from another (say, the west), the instructions are of little use.

Good guide if you go camping a lot, or even if you don't! Concise info on campgrounds, although the maps could be a bit better. They are a little confusing.

I have the California Camping and depend on it. Great way to plan, pull into an area or region and find just what I am looking for, a campground without Search Engine Optimization!

This is a wonderful book to get lost in! This guide has great descriptions for all types of camping and personal insight for those they have visited. This would make a wonderful gift for those who like to plan trips to ensure they get the most out of their travels. I would buy it again.

I have read all of the currently published “Children of the Gods” series. I’m waiting anxiously for the next installment to come out! I have thoroughly enjoyed the series so far! I’m not a fan of romance novels and don’t particularly like racy, sexual exploits, unless they bring something to the storyline. This series has it all, and it didn’t phase me at all negatively - in fact, it all seemed to belong and enhance the story.How the author kept all of the storylines straight, through so many volumes - is nothing short of mind blowing! There are so many characters, each with a fully-formed, and fleshed-out (no pun intended) story of their own.I have recommended this series to all of my friends - which I don’t do very often.I’m not looking forward to the end of the series, but I know it’s inevitable.

All I can say is please hurry with the next book. I read all the books so far that was available in this series in two days. Could not put them down and had to have the next one. The sex scenes are good but not made to be the highlight of the books. There is a very good story of love and power in each book. I cried when Dulha took his punishment so he could be redeemed, This whole series is captivating and unforgettable. Please, make the next book available soon. Great read and fantastic writing.

I liked the story of Amada and her faited mate being from opposite sides of the family . I also like this series and will continue with the next book .the only thing that could have made it better would have beenif the minor grammar but no biggie . I still enjoyed it very much . I would recommend reading the books in their order otherwise it will leave you confused and unsatisfied.

Love the Series. I read all the books which are 14. Read them one after the other, non stop. Only sleep kept me from reading them any faster. If you don't like sex in your books then these are not for you. But if you like a good sexy story, then your are in for a treat.

Romeo and Juliet with a happy ending. I love it from beginning to the next, because even though the main characters change Dalhu and Amanda will continue showing up into the story. Bye for now, because starting the next one in a few minutes.

I could not stop reading! This read is brilliant. If you are a current fan of J. R. Ward and have read The Brotherhood Series, then these books are for you. Great Suspense, Drama and sex all rolled into a package that I T Lucas writes seamlessly. I did it the long way around and bought each Volume separately, it's best to buy the Book Bundle. I am waiting for the next installment impatiently just as I do for the Brotherhood Series.

I loved the way this started off where the last one left off. Amanda's feelings for her love was interesting. I loved to interaction of all the characters.
